Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Angioplasty is a quick procedure and takes almost one hour. However, the patient needs to stay back in the hospital for almost 12 to 16 hours for recovery.

We offer four types of angioplasty including balloon angioplasty, laser angioplasty, atherectomy, and stenting. Our cardiac experts will closely examine you and suggest the most suitable treatment.

The procedure takes almost 2-3 hours, and the doctors prefer giving moderate sedation to the patients. After the procedure, our team of experts monitor you for 4-6 hours, and the radiologist examines you before discharge.

Our experts carry out some recommended lab tests before performing the angiogram to determine your body’s ability to form a blood clot. Your doctor will guide you about medications, and eating and drinking before the procedure. You will be required to bring along the current list of medication and allergies. We don’t take any responsibility for your valuable items, so kindly don’t carry them along to the hospital.

After the pacemaker is fixed, our team will attach a special monitor to you to know your heart and eye rhythm. Our team will also carry out a chest x-ray to examine your lungs and the position of the pacemaker and leads.

A majority of people are discharged the same day of the procedure. However, depending on your condition you might have to stay for a couple of days also.

Our team will administer a local anaesthetic in the patient’s thigh where the catheter is inserted. Usually, it is a painless procedure as it is performed under conscious sedation. However, slight discomfort is expected.

Our team of experts will examine you to suggest whether PAE is suitable for you or not. If they feel you require the treatment, they will schedule your PAE.

On the day of treatment, you will have to bring a list of allergies, current medication, medical information, and medicine card along with you. We don’t take any responsibility for your valuable items, so kindly don’t carry them along to the hospital.

Yes, when you call to schedule an appointment with the cardiologist at Almas Hospital, you will be assigned to a primary cardiologist of your choice. However, our team of physicians join up to provide the best patient care, so that you enjoy the best treatment.

The common tests including ECG, stress testing, BP monitoring and vascular testing will be performed in the doctor’s office. However, invasive procedures like catheterization and device placement will be planned for the hospital.

Almas Hospital coordinators will contact you to discuss the timings of the cardiac procedures that precisely meet your requirements. Our team will discuss the pre-procedure testing requirements, instructions to follow before the procedure, and suitable timings. Our cardiac specialists will be present to discuss any issues related to your approaching procedures.
